The Beatles: The True Beginnings by Roag Best,

The Beatles: The True Beginnings by Roag Best,
The Casbah Coffee Club, which opened in Liverpool on August 29, 1959, was the brainchild of Mona Best, the mother of Pete Best. It is well known that Pete Best was the drummer for The Beatles in their early days in Liverpool and Hamburg. But less well known is that The Beatles' origins were in fact at Pete's mother's club-it was at the Casbah and with Mona Best's blessing that the greatest popular music phenomenon of the twentieth century began. And now, the basement club where The Quarrymen, The Silver Beatles, and finally The Beatles played over 90 times before they hit the Cavern has been reopened and revealed by this remarkable new book. The Casbah's significance cannot be overestimated-it brought together some of the greatest names in rock music and became the catalyst for the Mersey Beat phenomenon that swept Liverpool in the early 1960s. Seen here for the first time in forty years is the basement's interior as it was at the very beginning, juxtaposed with the rooms as they are today, where the ceilings painted by John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Pete Best still rest. A wealth of rare material from the club and the Bests' own archives, together with newly-commissioned images by renowned photographer Sandro Sodano, documents the club's and The Beatles' intertwined stories. The Beatles: The True Beginnings also features accounts from early fans hearing the Beatles for the first time. Stunning new color photography of the rooms and memorabilia of the Casbah Coffee Club. Gritty, never-before seen photos of the young Beatles playing for hundreds of of their very first fans. And comments from the Beatles and their closest friends from the period. Accompanied by a fascinating personal memoir of this extraordinary time, written by Roag Best with his brothers Pete and Rory, this is both a moving family tribute and a unique insight into a remarkable period of Beatles history.

The Beatles: The Classic by Hunter Davies,
The Beatles: The Classic by Hunter Davies,
In this behind-the-scenes look at the most famous musical group in history, Hunter Davies gives the complete story of the Beatles. First published in 1968, this revised edition has added information including a new introduction and three updated appendices: Beatles Places, Beatles Memorabilia, and Beatles Books. As the only authorized biographer Davies had full access to the Fab Four, as well as their help and encouragement. He spent eighteen months with them when they were at the peak of their musical genius and at the pinnacle of their popularity, making a mark on history and popular culture that would never fade. Davies stayed on with the Beatles through their breakup and remained friends with the individual members afterwards, enabling him to write the continuing story of their solo careers.

Beatles VI - Beatles VI was The Beatles sixth (technically seventh, including The Beatles' Story) American release on Capitol Records, but ninth album for that market in less than one and a half years (the first American release was Vee-Jay's Introducing... The Beatles in January 1964).

Beatles '65 - Beatles '65 was the Beatles' fourth Capitol release, but sixth American album. Beatles '65 includes most of the songs from Beatles For Sale, deleting "Eight Days A Week", "Words of Love", "Every Little Thing", "I Don't Want To Spoil The Party", "What Your Doing", and the "Kansas City/Hey, Hey, Hey, Hey" medley; the album also picks up "I'll Be Back" from A Hard Day's Night and includes the single "I Feel Fine" / "She's A Woman".

The Beatles' Long Tall Sally - The Beatles' Long Tall Sally was the Beatles' final album released exclusively in Canada. After the release of this album, Beatles records in Canada would match the group's American releases, starting with the United Artists version of the A Hard Day's Night album, and, on Capitol, Something New.

Beatles Movie Medley - The Beatles Movie Medley was a compilation of snippets from various Beatles songs. It remains, to date, the only Beatles single not released on CD.
